City as a School (CAS) is an online platform that connects young adult learners ages 14-19 with inspirational teachers and mentors to develop real-world skills. CAS offers a marketplace of live online and in-person classes that help learners build their portfolio of projects, develop a professional network, and get placed at job opportunities. By offering a hands-on, experiential learning approach, CAS empowers learners to take control of their curriculum and develop future-ready skills.
CAS offers a variety of classes in areas such as game development, digital marketing, graphic design, mental health, web development, global challenges, and more.
Learners browse and sign up for classes and mentor sessions online or in the city based on their interests and career goals. Classes are taught by vetted experienced professionals and mentors who provide personalised guidance and feedback.
After class learners record their projects in a learning record which is stored on their mobile phone and sharable as a portfolio. They capture images, code, videos and documents to demonstrate their skills and achievements.
By attending classes and booking mentor session young people grow their professional network, and sample the full spectrum of careers in bitesized ways to find their true calling.
City as a School 'Guides' monitor and match portfolios with work and internships opportunities at partner organisations in the City as a School ecosystem.
